Air Conditioning Heat Load

air conditioning heat load

    air conditioning

  • air conditioner: a system that keeps air cool and dry
  • (Air-conditioned) buses fares cost a little over four times the fare of an ‘Ordinary’ route covering the same distance. Those buses have route numbers starting with A.
  • An Original Equipment or Aftermarket accessory system that cools and dries the incoming passenger compartment air. Aka: a/c
  • A system for controlling the humidity, ventilation, and temperature in a building or vehicle, typically to maintain a cool atmosphere in warm conditions

    heat load

  • the amount of heat that the air conditioner is required to remove from an airplane cabin in order to maintain a constant cabin temperature.
  • this measures the capacity of the space heating system required to maintain comfortable indoor temperatures at any one time, specified in Watts per square metre of treated floor area, or W/m2.
  • The heat flux which has to be removed from a room to maintain (or prevent to exceed) a required air temperature or humidity

heat-stroke

heat-stroke
Went for an inordinately pleasant pub lunch in a village just south of Nottingham that I can’t remember the name of. I’ll find out and let you know the name of the pub, it’s really really good. And I mostly hate pubs. The food is brilliant. Anyway, found a book on the shelves that took my fancy and took a load of photos of the illustrations because you just don’t see this sort of thing anymore and I think it’s a pity. My friends, as ever, thought I was being a knob, and not without some justification. The book was called something like "Your body, the Machine". And explained everything a young enquiring mind of the fifties could have wanted to know about how their body worked. This one is demonstrating the perils of heat-stroke at the races. This book must have spooked the living daylights out of a whole generation of kids

Loading black powder

Loading black powder
Here gunpowder (real black powder, like they used in cannons in the 17th century) is poured into a powder flask. From the powder flask it will later go into a powder measure, used to provide single doses to the rifle.

Always store your gunpowder in its original container. Gunpowder is very sensitive to heat and static electricity, and can detonate spontaneously if improperly stored.
